Edwina F Lilley ObituaryEdwina F. Lilley, 89, of Mentor, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at Chardon Healthcare in Chardon.
She was born June 9, 1936, to Leonard Archie and Anna Belle (nee Reese) McDonough (both deceased).
Edwina was a wonderful person, deeply rooted in her faith, with a love of God. She was rich in life, full of family and friends and boy did she love holding all of her babies. She prayed for all of them, every night; even if she couldn't remember everyone's name. Her love for reading, especially old westerns, and enjoying classic shows like "Walker Texas Ranger", "Gunsmoke" and "Bonanza" resonated with her morality and values in life. The underlying themes of justice and honor also showed her fondness for characters that reflected resilience and strength, things we all saw and admired in her.
She had a tradition of gathering everyone around to watch "Jeopardy" at 7:30, so you best not call at that time. She wouldn't answer.
Edwina enjoyed strolling around her childrens' neighborhoods. Though she was a finicky eater, she loved food and her enthusiasm for sweets at gatherings revealed her joy for simple pleasures.
Family gatherings always seemed to end with a good game of "Set and Sequence". These games left a legacy of cherished memories of laughter and "friendly" rivalry.
Edwina's tapestry of love, tradition and enjoyment left a legacy we will all cherish forever.
She was the loving mother of Charles (Jane) Lilley, Linda (John) Harris, Bruce (Lisa) Lilley, Elaine (David) Maine, and Pauline (Michael) Lograsso; cherished grandmother of Meredith (David) Eads, Monica (James) Bevan, Miranda (Nathan) Malsed, Jennifer (Randy) Butler, Lilley Maine, Dominic (Joshua) Lograsso and Erica (Dominic) Fedele; great-grandmother of Mason Eads, Savannah Eads, Aidan Eads, Makenzie Malsed, Madeline Malsed, Vanessa Butler, Declan Butler and Samantha Fedele; and sister of Patricia Harrison, Rose Furano and David McDonough.
Edwina was preceded in death by her siblings, John McDonough, Floyd McDonough, Annabelle Myers and Gwendolyn Oakes.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 24th at The Abbey, 38011 Euclid Ave,
Willoughby, OH 44094 from 2-4:30, when a Reflection of her life will take place. Please come prepared with any stories you would like to share.
