Eileen Erdle

Bloomfield – Eileen (Pittenger) Erdle, age 83, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with her family by her side. She is survived by four children, Patricia Volz, Stephen (Ann Marie) Erdle, Jennifer (Douglas) Rogers and Karen (Michael) Northrup; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Katherine), Clifford (Katie), Courtney (John), Hanna (Brandon), Patrick, Olivia, Levi (Kara), Benjamin (Ashley) and Taylor (Madigan); three great-grandchildren, Delilah, Johnny and Arthur; three siblings, Carolyn (Frank) Plympton, Shirley Perryman and David (Sandy) Pittenger; sisters-in-law, Vija Pittenger, Anne Erdle, Jeanne Erdle and Marge Erdle; brother-in-law, Ross Phippen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, "the love of her life", Gerald B. Erdle in 2021; and four siblings, Ken and Gary Pittenger, Sandra Phippen and Sharon Banks.
Eileen was born in Victor and was the daughter of Francis and Bernice (Kingsley) Pittenger. She was raised in Canandaigua, attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy. Eileen worked at the VA Medical Center for 25 years and later worked for Ontario County Office of the Aging. She was a member of St. Bridget's Church and volunteered at the local food pantry. Eileen was known for her cookie baking and often baked with her grandchildren, friends and acquaintances. Eileen enjoyed doing crafts and loved to make quilts for her family, friends and the Lion's Club Raffles. Spending time with family and grandchildren was everything to Eileen, and each grandchild would often spend a special day with "Ginga" (Grandma). She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Her memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 9, at 11am, at St. Bridget's Church, 15 Church St., Bloomfield. Interment will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Light Hill (comfort care home), 5160 Parrish St. Ext., Canandaigua, NY 14424.
