Eileen Brigid Gall Obituary Eileen Brigid Gall, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Newark, California, on September 9, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Eileen was the youngest of four children of Peter Reilly and Katherine (née Coyne) Reilly. She grew up in a close-knit home with her siblings: Mary (Harry) Gibbons, Kay (Jerry) Rich, and Peter Reilly. From an early age, she learned the importance of caring for others and showing kindness. These values became central to the way she lived. Whether with family, friends, colleagues, or new acquaintances, Eileen had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and loved.
Eileen is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Gall, and their two children, Christa (Mackie) McLoy and Jason Gall. Christa and Mackie blessed Eileen with four cherished grandchildren-Reilly (KC, deceased 2023), Connor, Sean, and Kalia-who brought her endless joy and pride. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, and remained close to her brother Peter, who also survives her.
Eileen's career at Stanford University was marked by compassion and dedication that touched countless lives. Her spirit and commitment to caring for others earned her admiration and respect, as beautifully captured in this Stanford tribute.
Eileen was a natural caregiver, both at work and at home She had a gift for making people feel like family. Her cooking was legendary, her parties unforgettable, and her laughter a source of light.
A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025 at The Abbey of Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the KC Hernández McLoy Memorial Scholarship at UC Irvine, which supports undergraduate students pursuing degrees in nursing and was established in honor of her grandson Reilly's late wife. Donations may be made to this fund in Eileen's memory.
Eileen's legacy of kindness, generosity, and grace lives on in the many lives she touched, the meals she cooked, and the laughter she shared. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
