Eileen, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and daughter, departed from this world on May 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness. Born on December 1, 1950 in Portland, Oregon, Eileen's life journey was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her community, and her passions.
Growing up in the beautiful city of Portland, Eileen's spirit was shaped by the values of kindness, hard work, and generosity. Her academic pursuits led her to the University of San Francisco, where she studied History and Spanish, and met the love of her life, Kenji. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with shared dreams and cherished moments.
Eileen's professional life was a testament to her diligence and perseverance. Initially a teacher, she later transitioned to the insurance industry, where her intelligence, commitment, attention to detail and expertise spanned over four decades. Her dedication to her work mirrored her commitment to her loved ones, ensuring their well-being with every decision she made.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Eileen's heart overflowed with a passion for animals, travel, cooking, and the joy of hosting memorable dinner parties. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, where laughter and love abounded. It was a common occurrence for friends to come over and join the family for dinner; everyone was always welcome.
Eileen's boundless generosity was a cornerstone of her character. As a stalwart member of her community, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to volunteer work at St. Joseph's Church, where both her leadership and culinary talents shined. Notably, she led the school's annual Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for her children's classes, a tradition supporting 6th-grade Science Camp. Eileen's dedication and renowned spaghetti sauce ensured the success of each event, surpassing fundraising goals to enable not one, but two memorable trips for both of her children's classes. Alongside her husband Kenji, she delighted attendees at the Fiesta Fundraiser with delectable Asian-inspired skewers, rivaling even the most popular booths. Moreover, Eileen extended her benevolence to the Sisters of the Holy Family Holiday Boutique, spreading joy and goodwill with every interaction. In her later years, she discovered fulfillment as a docent and tour guide at the Historic Patterson House, where she shared her passion for history with visitors, leaving an indelible mark on all she encountered.
Eileen's passing leaves a profound void, yet her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire and resonate within the hearts of those she touched. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenji, her children, Chris, Anna, Brandon, grandchildren, Lilliana, Aidan, and Mirai, and brothers, Kevin and George. While her physical presence may be gone, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she enriched and the memories she created.
In Eileen's honor, let us remember her not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the legacy of compassion she leaves behind. As we bid farewell to a remarkable soul, may we find solace in knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts forevermore.

Eileen and I first met in 1985 in the insurance business. During a very challenging and difficult time she was a tremendous help and boost of confidence for me. I will never forget how kind and helpful she was back then. I next met Eileen when her twins and our son Matt played CYO basketball. Many years followed where we were rooting, cheering, and boosting our kids on the basketball court. Kenji, Chris and I shared some years coaching these kids together. It was a lot of pressure we put upon ourselves and, thanks to Eileen and my wife Carol, a lot of fun. They were wise enough to remind us this was all about having fun. I am so sorry to hear Eileen has passed on, but find peace in knowing she is in the next life. All my love to Kenji, Chris, Anna and Brandon. Eileen, rest in peace!
