Eileen Cheryl Chaluczynski Richter

Eileen Cheryl Chaluczynski Richter, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Erie on June 14, 1947 to the late Chester and Helen Alamenciak Chalupczynski.

Eileen was a 1965 graduate of St. Benedict Academy in Erie. She transformed from a city girl into a devoted farm wife when she married her loving husband of 54 years, William M. Richter, and moved to Harborcreek Township. She embraced this role, building an amazing life and home for her husband and family.

Eileen was a savvy small-businesswoman. She worked diligently as the President of Richter Excavating and Trucking until 1990. For many more years, she was the Partner and Office Manager of Richter Farms, raising beef cattle and grapes.

A woman of great faith and an active and involved parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church in Harborcreek, Eileen had served as a religious education teacher and Eucharistic Minister. She was quick to offer prayers of love and support for everyone around her. Eileen could often be found in her kitchen and was a fantastic cook. She always warmly welcomed people into her home with a delicious meal.

Eileen truly had a heart of gold. She was overflowing with kindness and compassion for others. Her laughter, love, and smile lit up a room. Her greatest love and source of pride was her children and precious grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader, and the time she spent making memories with them will be cherished forever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Camille Chalupczynski; mother-in-law, Emma Richter; a daughter-in-law, Melanie Richter; and many aunts, uncles, and beloved cousins.

Eileen is survived by her husband, William Richter; son, William Richter, Jr. (Erika); daughter, Dr. Amy Richter (Robert Delo); cherished grandchildren, Molly and Amanda Richter, Emmett Delo, and Jayden Youngs.

Friends and family may call at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 837 Bartlett Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421 on Saturday, January 6th from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will be private. A gathering in Eileen's honor will be held by the family at a future date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
