Joseph Vitelli

Joseph "Joe" Vitelli, age 70, of Erie, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026 peacefully at Shady Side Hospital in Pittsburgh with family by his side following a lengthy illness. He was born September 10, 1955, son of the late Anthony and Gilda Arduini Vitelli.

Joe graduated from East High School and worked at Hammermill Paper for over 20 years, where he was very involved in the Union. He also worked as a mechanic for many years. Joe was a lifetime member of the Siebenbuerger Club and was the Vice President of the Teamsters Horseman Motorcycle Organization. In his spare time, he rode his Harley, built muscle cars and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Joe is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kim Sheldon Vitelli; son, Nathan Sheldon (Beth); daughter, Nicole Stokes Johnson; three grandchildren, Gabby, Kenzie and Brayson; one brother, Anthony Vitelli (MaryAnn); four sister, Veronica Martin (Tom), Cindy Sekula (Tom), Lois Vitelli (Mark) and Rosemarie DiVecchio (Tom); his two dogs whom he loved dearly, Karma and Diesel; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and lots of friends.

Friends will be received at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday, March 21st, from 2 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 5 pm.
