Eileen Mary (O'Connor) Sakkestad, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and lifelong servant to her Catholic faith and community, passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 11, 1940 in New York, New York to Arthur and Mary McGrath O'Connor.

Eileen retired from her position as an administrative assistant from Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. As well as working for the federal government, she become part of the Catholic Daughters of America as a Eucharist Minister in Keansburg, New Jersey, and later at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Melbourne Beach, Florida-bringing comfort and grace to parishioners through her gentle presence and unwavering faith.

Eileen was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Mary O'Connor; her cherished husband Carl, whom she married in May 1962 and her beloved sister Maureen.

She is survived by her children Robert, Tom, Carleen and Sean. She delighted in her role as grandmother to seven grandchildren Erika, Brianna, Shane, Montana, Angelina, Amber and Sean, Jr. Her role as great grandmother brought her great joy with Oakley Ray and Everett Carl.
Eileen is also survived by her sister, Margaret Daly, who shared in so many family milestones and treasured memories.

Eileen's life was a testament to faith, family, and service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 on September 6, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Melbourne Beach, Florida to celebrate Eileen's life and the blessing of her years among us.

May she rest in eternal peace, her light shining forever in the hearts of those she loved.
