Eileen Serrano

Well, world, it looks like Eileen Serrano has finally scratched her last lottery ticket. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 9, 1954, she took her final bow on October 1, 2023. Now, don't you cry for me, I've had a good run. And remember, as Mark Twain once quipped, "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."
I spent most of my life in Springfield, Massachusetts, where I made a living as a tobacco farmer. Not a profession you'd expect from a sweet little lady like me, eh? But let me tell you, I was absolutely resilient, and boy did those plants grow! As generous as I was with my time at the farm, I was equally generous with my love for my family and my enthusiasm for the next winning lottery ticket (I swear, one of these days, I was bound to win!).
Speaking of family, I was never married, but let me introduce you to my fantastic brood. There's Jazziah, Rosanna, Frankie, and Juan. They're all wonderful, and though they may have driven me up the wall at times, but they were my world. And let's not forget my grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the lucky recipients of my personal serenades. They will carry on the Serrano legacy, while my dear departed parents, Efrain, and Josefina Serrano-Picot, welcome me to the other side.
As a thoughtful soul once said, "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." And trust me, I packed my years full of life, love, and a whole lot of scratch-offs. So, instead of mourning, let's celebrate the life of the most loving, generous, resilient, and thoughtful woman you knew. Visitation hours for Eileen will be held this Saturday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm @ Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home 730 State St Springfield Ma 01109. Burial will be private.
