Elaine M. Buttacavoli of Mahopac, NY passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born in Yonkers, NY on April 5, 1941, the daughter of Louis and Mary Muscenti.
Elaine graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers and after raising her family, worked as a secretary at Camry Group Home in Somers, NY.
Elaine loved to entertain both family and friends. She was known as a great cook and baker to the delight of those who were fortunate enough enjoy her culinary efforts. She kept a spotless home, of which she took great pride, and enjoyed gardening and the flowers which she grew. She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac since moving here in 1978.
Along with her husband, Carmine, she loved to travel and had visited Italy several times, the western United States, Hawaii and, being a beach and sun lover, the Caribbean.
On December 2, 1961 she married Carmine Buttacavoli at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Yonkers. In addition to Carmine, she is survived by her children, Steven (Melissa) of Mahopac, Paula of Poughquag, NY, Gary (JoAnne) and John (Karina) of Mahopac and Susan (Gil) Chimes of Somers; her brother Louis Muscenti of Mahopac; her 10 beloved grandchildren, Carmine, Matthew, Dana, Nicholas, James, Alexa, Michael, Elaina, Victoria and Anthony and her great grandson, Jacob. She was predeceased by her brother, Falco Muscenti and her sister, Carmella Bernardi.
Visiting will take place on Tuesday, February 18 from 3-7 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19 at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Private cremation will follow.
