Oliver Anastacio, a cherished family man and respected professional, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in
Carmel, NY. Born on October 10, 1941, in Panama City, Panama, Oliver's journey led him to touch many lives with his kindness and dedication.
Oliver was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Montoya) Anastacio, who predeceased him in 2017. He was the son of the late Eusebio and Paula (Gonzalez) Anastacio. His memory will be treasured by his loving sons, Oliver Anastacio, married to Susan, and Felipe Anastacio, married to Stacey. His grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew, Patrick, and Emily Anastacio, were the light of his life, and he took immense joy in their every achievement and milestone.
Survived by his brother, David Salguera, Oliver was predeceased by his siblings Agapito Hernandez, Beatrice Garrido, and Francisco Salguera. His extended family and friends will remember him as a pillar of strength and love.
Oliver's educational journey began at P.S. 29 in Brooklyn, NY, and continued at East NY Vocational & Technical High School. As a junior, he joined the U.S. Navy Reserve. Upon graduation from East NY, he transferred to the United States Army where he attended the U.S. Army Communications Specialist School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army he attended the RCA Institute in New York City.
Professionally, Oliver dedicated many years as a Building Superintendent in Brooklyn Heights. He also worked as a Technician for RCA, a Platform Man at Owens' Trucking, and a Maintenance Engineer with Cushman & Wakefield in New York City.
Oliver was an avid fan of the New York Mets, New York Jets, soccer and boxing.
Above all, Oliver valued family. His grandchildren were his greatest joy and spending time with his family and friends was very important to him.
Oliver Anastacio's legacy is one of love, hard work, and the importance of family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Oliver's life was a testament to the enduring power of dedication to one's family and community.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue,
Carmel, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial to honor and celebrate Oliver's life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at St. James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Avenue,
Carmel, NY.
Following the Mass, Oliver will be escorted to his final resting place alongside his beloved wife, Maria, at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY. There will be a U.S. Army Military Honor Guard Ceremony at graveside.
