I grew up in the house next door to Bob and Elaine. They were basically my grandparents and I always referred to them as Grandma and Babo. He used to call my older sister and I princess pretty and princess beautiful. We would always come over to their house often and on weekends they'd take us out to get McDonald's breakfasts. Whenever we needed a can of Rosarita refriend beans Elaine had a whole cabinet full of them- mostly because when my mom was pregnant she broke down crying when she didn't have any refried beans and Elaine made sure we would never run out again. We had to move away in 2011 but tried our best to visit when we could. I was so lucky to be able to visit Babo before he passed away 2 weeks after we saw him. I was not so lucky to be able to visit Elaine one last time. I hope Daisy is doing alright. I miss them but I hope they're resting easy now.

I met Bob and Elaine many years ago as part of the "Morning McDonald Coffee group" where the problems of the area and the world were solved . Elaine and I bonded over sewing , cooking and family. After Bob passed I have warm memories of our lunches together, trip to bocce ball court, shopping, our furry little friends ( Little Daisy ) and just good conversation. I miss our lunches and will always have a special place in my heart for Elaine.
She was a very special friend.

We moved next door to Bob and Elaine in 2011. One of the first things they said was to refer to them as grandma & grandpa. Well, bob also said his name was spelled the same way forward & backwards. All of our family lives on the east coast, so they immediately made us feel a part of theirs. They loved my 3 boys so much and always displayed artwork they made. After Bob passed, Elaine and I still enjoyed many laughs, a few margaritas here and here (or as she called them Marta Rita´s, we would joke that she would press her life alert button on purpose just to see the cute firemen that showed up. We would keep our window shades open that faced one another´s house until pretty late at night to "keep an eye on each other" although we both said if anyone broke in we´d die of a heart attack before we could do anything about it. So many memories. We love you Elaine and miss you terribly already!
