Elaine Fluckiger

Elaine Fluckiger was born on July 22, 1951, in Provo, Utah. Her parents are Ethel and Hubert Fluckiger. She was their second daughter.

When she was six years old, her family moved to Evansville, Indiana where her father worked at Mead Johnson Pharmaceuticals. Elaine graduated from Francis Joseph Reitz High School located in Evansville in 1969. She attended Brigham Young University for three semesters.

She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Italy North Mission from 1974-1975.

After her mission she worked in the Church Office Building for forty years. She worked in the Accounting Department, the Missionary Department, for Public Relations and then for the Telephone Department.

Elaine loved making quilts, afghans, baby blankets, Christmas ornaments, and small animals. She also loved counted cross stitch and made many gifts for family and friends. She was an avid indexer for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She completed 1000's of names. She loved to read. She served in her ward Primary as president, counselor, and teacher. She loved children and children loved her. She was very creative in her lessons. She also had parties for her classes. She was loved by her nieces and nephews. She would have slumber parties for them, buy them gifts, and take them to fun places and activities.

Elaine was very generous with her time and her means. She helped many organizations. She would give things away without accepting any payment in return.

She was a beloved daughter of God and was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life.

She passed away on 21 November 2025 in Layton. She is survived by her sister Margene Gardner of Centennial, Colorado and her sister Lynnae Marsing of Lindon, Utah. She will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held for family and friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary in Layton, 250 N. Fairfield Road. A graveside service will follow at the Midway City Cemetery, 770 West 500 South, Midway, Utah, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Services are entrusted to Myers Mortuary in Layton.
