In the tranquil heart of Clearfield, Utah, we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, Kit Chee Tse, a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt who left us on October 11, 2025. Born on June 9, 1935, in Kaiping, Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China, Kit Chee's journey of 90 years is a testament to resilience and the enduring power of love and compassion. Her life was a living embodiment of the Buddha's words, "In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you."
Kit Chee was a culinary artist, a chef who poured her love into every dish she prepared. She was an esteemed chef at Wong's Restaurant until her retirement in 1995. Her passion for cooking extended far beyond her professional life; it was a gift she lovingly shared with her family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to taste her delicious meals. Outside her kitchen, Kit Chee was a devoted Buddhist who found peace in prayer and offering food and company during special occasions. Her gentle spirit and smiling face were a source of joy and comfort to those around her, exemplifying the Buddhist teaching, "Radiate boundless love towards the entire world - above, below, and across - unhindered, without ill will, without enmity."
Kit Chee's legacy lives on in the hearts of her beloved children, Shu Cheuk Tse, Shu Ming Tse, and Lai Tse, her daugher-in-law, Yuen Tse, her cherished grandson, Matthew Tse, and her dear nephew, Kit Tong. She joins in eternal rest her loving parents, Mei Kwan and Kwok Chow, and her devoted husband, Wing Tse. To know Kit Chee was to experience the warmth of her generous heart, her boundless kindness, and her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a beacon of strength and resilience, always giving more than she received, always ensuring everyone felt welcomed and loved.
As we commemorate Kit Chee's life, we invite you to share your memories and photos on her memorial page. These treasured moments will serve as a comforting reminder of Kit Chee's enduring love and legacy. May her life continue to inspire us to live with kindness, love generously, and cherish every moment.
