Elaine Marion Clara Brockman Laabs (nee Brauch) age 96 years, of Germantown, Wisconsin, passed away after a long and fulfilling life on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Cedar Community of West Bend, Wisconsin.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Malinda Brauch, and all of her siblings, Wally, Leone, Arlene and Donny.
Elaine is survived by her children Linda, Bill and Jim, her grandchildren Heather Beyer, Shawn Frank and Bill Brockman, and Joshua, Jeremy and Justin Brockman, her great-grandchildren Hadlie Dallman and Macie Beyer, Nathan and Tyler Brockman, Taylor and Devan Frank, and Andrew, Jake, Dylan and Madison Brockman. Elaine's first great-great grandchild is due any day.
Elaine enjoyed baking (especially for her grands & great-grands) and was known for her cheesecake which she brought to every Family Reunion, and her brownies which she brought to almost every other occasion. She loved her flower garden and that was what she missed most when she moved. She also loved playing Bingo and Polish Poker at the Germantown Senior Center whenever she could attend. Elaine was a member of St. Paul's Church in Menomonee Falls, attended Bible Study groups, and had been a member of the choir for many years. She also attended the church camps at Cedar Lake, Pilgrim and Moon Beach, including family camp when her children were young, and then grandparents' camp with her grandchildren. She loved Packer games, and really loved attending any football, baseball or basketball games that her grands were playing in, and any concerts or plays that the great-grands were in.
Elaine loved travelling and took many trips including Germany, Alaska, and New England, to name a few. She enjoyed reminiscing about the camping trips she took with her children to Canada and through the Eastern States to Connecticut to visit her aunts. When her grandchildren were young, she took the five of them (at that time) on different trips around the state each summer earning her the name "Super Grandma." But the trips that meant the most to her were the yearly trips on Memorial and Labor Day weekends which she spent in Gresham with Bill and Jim's families. She planned for Labor Day weekend as soon as Memorial Day weekend was over.
Our family would like to extend our thanks for the care and attention given to her and to us by the nurses and staff of Cedar Community.
Private services will be held February 28, 2025.
