Elaine Lanerie Obituary
Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Elaine B. Lanerie, 74, who passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Reverend Shannon Reppond will officiate at the funeral service.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery #1 in Breaux Bridge.
Elaine Lanerie was born on November 20, 1948, in St. Martin Parish. In 1966 she married the love of her life, Preston, who has been her best friend, biggest supporter, and favorite fishing partner for 56 years. Elaine was a wonderful and involved mother who loved supporting her children. She was always the loudest and most encouraging voice in the crowd. She loved spending time and loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with fishing, Elaine enjoyed singing and cooking for her family. For many years of her life, she was a faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God Church where she sang with the choir and worship team. She also sang in a Christian gospel group called Morning Star with her brother Jimmy. Elaine will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Preston Lanerie; son, Preston "PJ" Lanerie; daughters, Jeni (Mark) Richard and Jessica (Benjamin) Werner; grandchildren, Hannah Lanerie, Madison Richard, Bailey Lanerie, Hunter Richard, Pierson Lanerie, Carson Lanerie, Samuel Werner; great-grandchildren, River Howell, Maxton Lanerie, Levi Lanerie and Callum Cook, mother, Mildred Soignier; brothers, Jason (Vicky) Benoit and Jimmy (Brenda) Benoit; and her sister, Kathy (DJ) Hebert.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dewey Benoit; and her sister, Sylvia "Tibby" Naquin.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Benoit, Mark Richard, Benjamin Werner, PJ Lanerie, Hunter Richard, and Dusty Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pierson Lanerie and Jason Benoit.
Pellerin Funeral Home, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517 (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
