Elayne Fitzpatrick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tasker Funeral Home - Dover on Jan. 19, 2024.
Elayne Phyllis (Jandreau) Fitzpatrick, 1948-2024
Elayne passed away on January 17, 2024, after an extended illness, leaving behind her loving husband of over 44 years, Joseph A. Fitzpatrick, Jr., of Berwick, ME, her daughter, Leanne (Stevens) Jandreau, of Rochester, NH, her beloved granddaughter, Emma Perkins, of Dover, NH, extended family members, and friends. The hole she leaves is unfathomable.
She was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Phyllis (Berry) Jandreau, of Bingham and Concord, ME, her sister, Helena Jandreau, also of Bingham and Concord, and her nephew, John L. York, of Norridgewock, ME, all of whom she loved dearly.
Elayne was born on October 26, 1948, and grew up in Bingham, ME, with her parents, grandparents, and sister. She moved to southern Maine with her daughter in the early 1970s, then to the seacoast NH area where she remained. Elayne's careers were as a full-time mother, while her daughter was in grade school, and then as a commercial insurance agent until her retirement.
As a mother, her love knew no bounds.
Those who were fortunate to know her knew her as beautiful inside and out, smart, sassy, having a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, a great laugh and beautiful smile, a talented artist, generous, tender-hearted, hater of injustice, and loving her family fiercely. She loved playing pool with her husband and friends and was in several leagues over the years, the ocean, sitting by the campfire, funny movies, being at the lake, and being with her family, but her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother, and she was a devoted one.
Elayne was a member of the American Legion Post 7, in Rochester, NH, along with her husband, Joe, a navy veteran, as well as being a member of the Women's Auxiliary. They participated in many events, giving their time, talents, and finances to those in need. She had many friends and acquaintances and enjoyed the time she spent there. She was an avid supporter of our veterans.
She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her as a true friend, an encourager, a supporter, a voice of reason, and as someone who could get you to laugh with her sharp wit to cheer you up.
There will be no memorial service at this time.
