Elbee Ramsthaler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allwood Funeral Home - Clifton on Mar. 10, 2026.
Elbe W. Ramsthaler, 94, of Clifton, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Jamaica, Queens, NY, to Frank and Mary (Valent) Jaworski, she moved to Clifton in 1965, where she raised her three sons and built a loving home.

Elbe worked as an administrative assistant and office manager in the Human Resources department at The Prudential Insurance Company for 15 years and was a devoted parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church in Clifton. She also loved visiting the Holy Face Monastery, where she found peace and solitude.

A woman of the highest integrity, she devoted her life to her sons and family, including the family pets. After her divorce, she worked two and sometimes three jobs to provide for her family, meeting every challenge with strength, pride, and unwavering love. She was supportive of all her sons' endeavors and never missed a ball game.

She had an infectious laugh-full, joyful, and often tear-filled-and a generous heart. Even in difficult times, she gave to her favorite charities, especially St. Jude. Her home was open to everyone: neighborhood friends, muddy kids from the park, anyone who needed warmth, food, or a place to land. She never worried about the house getting dirty; she cared that people were comfortable and taken care of.

She loved her family and friends, reading and listening to books on tape, long car rides, music, the beach, and her favorite sweets. She had a deep passion for education and a lifelong love of learning; when reading became difficult, she continued that passion by listening to books on tape. She traveled across the country several times and visited nearly every contiguous state.

Elbe is survived by her three sons: John; Stephen and his wife, Patricia; and James Ramsthaler; ten grandchildren-Sean, Riley (Nick Catalano), Coogan, Ryan, Killian, Dean, Aidan, Irish, Emma, and Bailey Ramsthaler; two great grandchildren, Eloise and Oliver; and her beloved canine companion, Rubi. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Jaworski; her sister, Dorothy Jaworski; and her former husband, John Ramsthaler.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4–8 PM at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, at 10 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church in Clifton, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elbe's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue.

Her legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the laughter she shared, and the family she devoted her life to.
