Elbert was preceded in death by his wife; and his brothers, David Darnell and Raymond Darnell.
He is survived by his sister, Pat Massey (Grant), and his brother, Virgil Darnell. He is also survived by his nieces, Autumn Davis, Kenitha Darnell, and Dee Dee Darnell, and his nephew, Raymond Mondaski.
Elbert enjoyed fishing and spending time by the river. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center – Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 West Market Street, Louisville, KY 40203. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 23, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery.
