Sandra D. Darnell,

65, of Pisgah, WV, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Sandra was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on January 27, 1960, to Leo M. Gorgas and Lola V. Gorgas (Christopher), who preceded her in death along with her beloved sister Herbalene Cordero.

She is survived by her devoted husband Gary A. Darnell, and her cherished children Adam J. Woods and Rachel A. Moser (Lance A. Moser). Sandra was the proud grandmother to Maximus and Evelyn Moser, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her siblings Delores Greer, John Gorgas, and Linda Gorgas McKinney, as well as her nieces and nephews Kris Gorgas (Kim Ballensky), John Gorgas, Meaghan McKinney, Denise Greer, Dan Greer, and numerous great nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory dear.

Sandra dedicated 43 years of her life to nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse, touching countless lives with her compassionate care. Her warm smile had the remarkable ability to bring instant comfort to her patients, often providing healing that went far beyond medicine. She was beloved by all the patients, nurses, and doctors whose lives she enriched through her service. Her calling to heal and comfort others was truly a gift she shared with the world.

When not caring for others, Sandra found peace and joy in her garden, where she nurtured both plants and her love for the outdoors. She had a special place in her heart for her animals and enjoyed the quiet satisfaction of sewing. Her greatest happiness came from traveling with her dear husband Gary and creating precious memories with her grandchildren.

Sandra's legacy is one of love, service, and devotion to family. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering dedication to others will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed by many whose lives she touched.

Family and friends may call in Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, 12 East Main Street, Brandonville- Bruceton Mills, WV 26525, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, and Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10 AM, with funeral services to follow at 11 AM with Rev.
