Joseph Lynn Sypolt, 55, of Somerset, PA, and formerly of Albright, WV, passed away at his home in Somerset, Friday, August 1, 2025. The son of Charles and Linda Stemple Sypolt, he was born August 1, 1970, in Kingwood, WV. He was a 1988 graduate Central Preston High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Shank; a son, Tyler Sypolt, and his partner, Abbie Knopp; four granddaughters; a brother, Michael Sypolt, and his partner, Barb Nine; a nephew, Michael, Jr.; a niece, Maddilynn Sypolt; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Betty Sypolt and Ishmael and Elsie Stemple; aunts: Jane Smith, Mary Ann Felton, Helen Terry, and Debbie Gower; and uncle, Darwin Stemple. Family and friends will be received at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service with Rev. Marvin Frankhouser officiating. Full military honors will be held at the Centenary Cemetery in Bruceton Mills by the Preston County Honor Guard.
