Dwayne Jackson passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on February 4, 1948, to Marlin Elbert Jackson and Mary Ruth Jackson, he also had a twin brother, Dwight Jackson. Dwayne attended Byrd High School and, upon graduation, enlisted in the Air Force Reserves from 1966 to 1971. Later, he married Paula Marie Boston, enjoying thirty-two years of marriage. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Dwayne had a unique ability to brighten any room with laughter, often leaving his friends and family in bursts of laughter with his sharp humor and lighthearted banter. He was well known in the Shreveport-Bossier area for his exceptional work as an auto body technician for nearly 40 years, and he had many friends who valued his good heart and his selfless nature.
He is survived by his only child, Stephanie Marie Arnold, and his two grandchildren, Brighton Marie Arnold and Brody Lynn Arnold, who brought him immense joy and pride. Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Ruth Jackson. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his oncologist, Dr. Robert “Bob” Massingill, and his wife Lisa, cherished friends of Stephanie, as well as to the dedicated team at CHRISTUS Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Dwayne's illness, ensuring he remained comfortable and surrounded by love in his final days.
