Elbert Smith, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, at his residence in Xenia, Ohio, surrounded by his family. Born on June 15, 1931, in Brush Creek, Kentucky, Elbert embodied a spirit of compassion, hard work, and dedication throughout his life.

Elbert enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from General Motors after 30 years of employment. His work ethic was a testament to his commitment to excellence, not just in his professional life but also within his family and community. He was a wonderful husband and the perfect dad, always present for his family and deeply caring for those he loved.

In addition to his career, Elbert had a wide array of interests that brought joy to his life. He was an avid fan of Bluegrass and Country music, often spending his time listening to his favorite songs and attending concerts. A true sports enthusiast, Elbert found joy in watching NASCAR and passionately supporting his favorite teams.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Lisa Smith and Lois (Wayne) McFarland; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a close family friend, Susan Smith; his brother, Ray (Emma) Smith and Ray's son, Mike (Susan) Smith, with whom he shared many memories.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ada Smith; his parents, Richard and Carrie Smith; as well as numerous siblings.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio,on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville.
