Elbert "Ziggy" Zickafoose

Elbert W. Zickafoose--known by many as Ziggy--was born on October 27, 1943, in Lawn, West Virginia to John William and Stella Zickafoose. Elbert, who resided in Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 80.Beloved husband of 58 years to JoEllen Zickafoose. Loving father of Janet (Carvil) Zickafoose and Michael Zickafoose. Dear brother of William Morgan Zickafoose, Ruby Holliday, and Nina (Kurt) Emmerling. Dearest uncle of Frank Vandall and many other nieces and nephews. Deeply loved by Tiffany Robinson; Ryley Holt; Alexis, Emily, and Olivia Heiple; and his Fab 5: Jordan, Jaxon, Journi and Jaylynn Jackson and Jayce Bias. Elbert was preceded in death by his parents and several of his siblings: Erma Felts, Ethel Zickafoose, Aretta Jane Delmas, Shadrach (Frances) Zickafoose, and Azel Zickafoose. He was a proud member of the UAW (Local 22) before and after his retirement. Elbert will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 2:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 5900 Allen Rd. (313) 928-2300. There will be a service to celebrate and remember his life at 6:00 PM. He later will be laid to rest near his hometown in West Virginia.
