Eldon Willcut Obituary
Eldon was born on January 20, 1944, to Elmer and Flora Willcut in Kennett, Missouri. He married Sharon Smith on Wednesday, June 2, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Eldon was a Fire Fighter, farmer, logger and the greatest of grandpas. He retired from MO Dept of Conservation after 31 years of managing the Lone Hill lookout Tower where he located and help contain wildfires. In off season he logged and baled hay with his brothers and in his spare time he loved to hunt, fish, and raise cattle, hogs, and goats. He also like playing pool, horseshoes, and fast pitch softball. His favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports and grow into their own lives. Eldon was known for his willingness to help everyone he met, and he will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Eldon is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon, one daughter, Sandra Fields (Mark Allen), 2 grandsons: Ryan Capper and Christopher (Lisa) Davis, 2 great grandsons: Ethan and Jacob Davis and one great granddaughter: McKendra Davis along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Eldon was preceded by his parents, one son: Robert "Bobby" Willcut, Stepdad: Jess Becker, and brothers: Ervin (Ermalea), Mervin, Marvin (Vera), Junior, Gerald, Earl (Allean), Berley, Jerry, Bud (Alene), Authur Lee and two nephews: Gerald Wayne and Verlin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services will be on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 2:00pm in the Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with Reverend Danny Sisco officiating. Burial will take place at Cochran Cemetery immediately following.
