Amodeo, Eleanor M., a lifelong resident of Lexington, May 21, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Gerald Amodeo and Eleanor N. (Bacci) Amodeo. Devoted sister of Katherine A. Amodeo of Lexington and Donna J. Amodeo of Lexington.
A graduate of Lexington High School, Class of 1974. She was affectionately called Ellie by family and friends. Ellie enjoyed traveling the country with her sister Donna. She was very gregarious in social situations often making new acquaintances wherever she went. Ellie had a penchant for watching games shows and never found a piece of jewelry that she didn't buy. In addition Ellie was passionate about her two dogs often times sneaking them table food much to the chagrin of her two sisters.
Ellie worked at the Veterans Administration hospital in Bedford and was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She received a letter of commendation for her work and service. Ellie received numerous letters from family members of the people she took care of over the years. She advanced and became a Technician whose job was to fill and distribute medical supplies throughout the hospital. When she retired Ellie become actively engaged in volunteer work at the Council of Aging in Arlington and made many friends through this experience.
Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Friday May 30 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church, 16 Follen Rd. Lexington at 10am. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or Parkinson's Foundation in memory of Eleanor Amodeo.
Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
