Eleanor Glenn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCabe-Roof Funeral Home - Clymer on Mar. 12, 2026.
Eleanor Joyce S. Glenn, 94, of Commodore, passed away peacefully on her family farm where she was born, March 11, 2026.

She was born to William Alden Stahl and (Jenetta) Beatrice Gromley on November 17, 1931, on their dairy farm homestead, Commodore, Indiana County, PA. Joyce worked on the farm with her father until she was 21 years old. After graduating from Commodore High School in 1949, she went to Indiana Business School and took a secretarial class with shorthand, graduating in 1950. Her first job was as a waitress at Stapleton's Restaurant. Then she became a secretary at National Mine Service Company in Indiana, PA until 1953.

Joyce met Dwight Glenn at a fraternity party at Indiana Teacher's College (IUP) in September 1952 and they married January 24, 1953 (in between college semesters). After Dwight finished college, the Army sent him to Germany. Joyce followed after the birth of their second child, alone and with two children under 2 years of age. Their third child was born in Germany. Their travels took them to also live in California, Texas and Maryland where their fourth child was born. Dwight started his own company, Mid-Atlantic Radiation Physics, Inc., and Joyce worked on the finances for 30 years. Together they travelled the world: China, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Hawaii.

Joyce's interests were cooking, reading, gardening, sewing and crocheting, and traveling. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Wayne Glenn on October 18, 2018 and her son, Daniel William Glenn on September 18, 2025 (Sue) of AK. Her youngest daughter brought her to the family farm to live out her days. She leaves behind her sister, Miriam Stahl Deitman, OH; her children, Diana Marie (Richard Kubu) of Apollo Beach, FL, Karen Joyce (Arnold Able) of Stevensville, MD, and Kristine Susan (John Reilly) of Commodore, PA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joyce was looking forward to reuniting with her husband in heaven after 65 years of marriage and would talk often about their wonderful life together. There will be a memorial for family at the farm in April. Joyce's ashes will be intermingled with Dwight's for eternity.

All service will be private for the family, the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer is assisting the Glenn/Reilly Family.
