NANA - our compassionate, gracious and most generous wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was born into eternal life on October 20, 2024, at the age of 91 at Bayfield Assisted Living. She was born on April 3, 1933 in Beaver Township to the late Edwin and Sophie (Zboralski) Bruzewski. She married the love of her life, Ambrose Grzegorczyk, on June 14, 1952 at St. Valentine Catholic Church where she was a lifetime member. She was the bookkeeper/secretary at St. Valentine Parish for many years. As a devoted homemaker, she was known for her wonderful cooking, especially grandma cookies, soups, kishka, and homemade bread. She had a beautiful singing voice which she enjoyed sharing with others. When a married child tells her "the things you do for us makes our marriage better" that demonstrates the type of mother and mother-in-law she was. She loved telling jokes on bus trips, enjoyed playing cards, ceramics, and bowling but most of all she loved celebrating with family.
Eleanor leaves to carry on her legacy her children: Richard (Lezley), Michael (Christine), Sue, and Timothy (Yvonne) Grzegorczyk and grandchildren Douglas, Matthew (Jayme), Todd (Nicole), Drew (Tina), Alaina, Keith, Katie (Ryan) Osantoski, Brett (Rebecca), Brandon (Chelsea), Colleen (Brad) Darling, Benjamin (Turner), Lisa (Mark) Stefaniak and Stacy (Greg) Gibbon as well as 19 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sibling James Bruzewski, brother-in-law Paul Grzegorczyk, sister-in-law's Angie Grzegorczyk, Leona Butko and MaryJo (Mike) Stieve along with cherished godchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a dear family friend Arlene Wrobel.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Ambrose who she dearly missed and daughter Jolene; great grandsons, twins Maddox and Jameson and Brooks Grzegorczyk, sisters Marjorie Grzegorczyk and Lorraine Bruzewski; sisters-in-law Elaine Bruzewski, Evelyn (Harry) Brown, Albina (Robert) Super, and brothers-in-law Jerome Grzegorczyk and Louie Butko.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 25, 2024,, at 11 am from St. Anne Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Prentice Tipton presiding with burial at St. Valentine's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rivertown Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 3 pm till 8 pm. On Thursday, a Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 pm with Fr. Pete Gaspeny. On Friday, Eleanor will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the families wishes so they may make a donation in Eleanor's honor. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You, to Bayfield Assisted Living, especially Paula for the compassionate care given to their mother.
