Eleanor "Ellie" Hudson

Eleanor Hudson, lovingly known as Ellie, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the tender age of 8. Though her time with us was far too short, she filled every moment with light, laughter, and love.

Ellie had just celebrated her 8th birthday and approached every day with wonder and imagination. She loved to learn new things and was always ready to share her favorite fun facts. She could spend hours playing her favorite Mario and Kirby video games, but what she loved most was playing with her sister and best friend, Lily. Her bright smile, gentle heart, and joyful spirit lit up every room she entered.

Ellie is deeply loved and will be forever missed by her parents, John and Kelly Hudson; her sister, Liliana "Lily" Hudson; her grandparents, Judy and Michael Fogarty, and John Hudson III (late, Mary Anne Hudson). She is also cherished by her aunts and uncles, Matthew and Shannon Fogarty, Elizabeth (Ben) Lepine, and Matthew Hudson; and by her cousins, Jacob and Levi Lepine.

The Hudson family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported Ellie and their family throughout her journey, including Ochsner Children's Hospital, The Grace Ashley Scasny Foundation, Candlelighters NYC, and Camp Sunshine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellie's name to the Ochsner Children's Hospital Oncology and Child Life Departments, whose care and compassion meant so much to her family.

Ellie's love and light will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ellie's funeral services on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, with a mass following at 11:00 am. A private burial will take place at a later date.
