Schenectady, NY It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Louise (McCullough) Pierce announce her passing after a long illness on Friday, March 24, 2023.
Eleanor was born June 25, 1929 in Monticello, NY to the late Andrew and Carrie (Unkenholz) McCullough.
She graduated from Monticello High School and Becker College, Worcester, MA.
She was previously employed at General Electric in the Aeronautics and Ordnance Department.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and a volunteer in the community.
She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church where she taught in the church school for over 25 years, chaired committees, and was the President of the Faith United Methodist Women for eleven years.
For many years Eleanor and her husband, Gerry, enjoyed travelling the world. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Gerry, daughter Diane, sister Alice McBride, and brother Andrew McCullough.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Mohammadi of Rotterdam, Karen (John) Piccioni of Syracuse, Janet (Michael) Bresnahan of Worcester, MA, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Thursday, March 30 at Faith United Methodist Church, 811 North Brandywine Avenue, Schenectady. A calling hour will be held at the church from 10:30am to 11:30am prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.
