Eleanor Sanchez, age 92, beloved mother, spouse, and daughter, was called to her eternal resting place on November 9, 2025. She entered this world on June 11, 1933, in Gallup, NM, born to Manuel and Virginia Garcia.
Eleanor was raised as an only child but was also raised with "cousins by the dozens". She graduated from Gallup Cathedral High School and was crowned Homecoming Queen. From that beginning, she became a mother of her own children as she and Howard created a legacy of love, honor, and respect. Family was her number one priority, and she dedicated her life to each and every one of them.
She enjoyed exercising at the gym with her husband up until the age of 75. Eleanor taught her daughter to crotchet. The children always felt safe and secure with their mom being there after school. Dinner was always by 5 pm, she made sure that her family was cared for and loved. She was a helper and gave loving advice to any who asked. Through her years, she touched the lives of so many people spreading her love throughout the world.
She is survived by her spouse, Howard Sanchez; children, Mark Sanchez, Richard Sanchez, Robert Sanchez and Bernadette (Richard) Silva; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., followed by a visitation at the FRENCH - Westside Chapel.
The Mass will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW - Albuquerque, NM 87114.
Memories and condolences can be left on the obituary at the funeral home website.
