Mrs. Eleanor Wong Yang passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025 at Sweet Water Assisted
Living in Orlando, Florida at the age of 88.
Eleanor is survived by her sons: Bright Wong and his wife Alexandra of Windermere, Florida;
Edison Wong of Orlando, Florida; and David Wong of Billerica, Massachusetts. She is also
survived by her sister Kellen Yang of New York, New York, and by her grandchildren: Matthew
Wong of Bedford, Massachusetts; Sonya Wong and Daniel Wong of Orlando, Florida. She is
preceded in death by her husband David Wong of New York, New York and sister Cathy
Yang of New York, New York.
Eleanor was born on April 5, 1937 in Taiwan to Chen Yang and King Cho Yang.
She graduated from college in Taiwan in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical
engineering. She married David Wong, a surgeon, in Taiwan. She relocated to the United
States in 1968, studied computer science, and began working for her husband's medical
practice as the business manager. She raised 3 successful sons and has 3 grandchildren. She
spent her last several years at Sweet Water and benefited significantly in her quality of life from
palliative care services, which provided stimulation for her spiritual and cultural needs.
A funeral is scheduled for May 21, 2025 at a private location with a reception to follow. {Dr.
Burnett Robinson will officiate the ceremony. Attendance is by invitation only to celebrate
Eleanor's life. Flowers and condolences may be sent in care of DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001
N Orlando Avenue, Maitland, Florida 32751 and donations can be made in her name to the
Lewy Body Dementia Association.
