Eleanora Irene Cropp

Eleanora Irene Cropp, 92, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 2, 2025. She was born in Fairmont on August 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Floyd and Thelma Fitzhugh Wilson.
Eleanora was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She had a deep love for baking and cooking, and in her younger years, she enjoyed singing, dancing, and traveling. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially caring for her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children: Zadah Toothman, Lyle Reece, Donna Swiger, Beatrice "Gigi" Swiger, and Jennifer Smith; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles "Chuck" Swiger.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Burial will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery.
