Eleanore Jakusz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point on May 23, 2024.
Eleanore F. (Goodin) Jakusz, of Stevens Point, passed away suddenly on May 15, 2024, at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital, at the age of 87.
Eleanore was born February 3, 1937, in Chicago, IL; daughter of the late David and Aurelia (Courteau) Goodin. When she was young, her family relocated to the Pittsville area where they raised cocker spaniels. Eleanore attended local schools and graduated from Pittsville High School in 1955.
While in high school, Eleanore met Lawrence T. Jakusz and the two were married on July 26, 1956. Together, they moved to Stevens Point where they would grow their family. Although the marriage later ended in divorce, they were proud to welcome six beautiful children to their home.
Eleanore enjoyed the peace of crafting, especially sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed reading romance novels, the challenge of jigsaw puzzles and the playful competitiveness of card games as well as other games. Being a social butterfly, Eleanore enjoyed playing games with family and friends, and eventually with the other residents where she resided. Anywhere she went, she could be found laughing, making friends, and sharing her fun-loving personality with those around her.
Eleanore is survived by her four sons, Clifford (Julie Scutkowski), Thomas (Lori), Matthew (Jeanine), and Mark (Tom Patterson) Jakusz; her two daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Lewandowsk and Laura (Greg Hietpas) Lesmeister; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents, David and Aurelia; and her sisters, Joanne Kay and Jacqueline Nelles.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Shuda Funeral Home - 3200 Stanley Street, Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
