With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Eleonore Bassette, on January 24, 2025. Born on October 9, 1940, in Deggendorf, Germany, Eleonore was a dedicated, adventurous, funny, and reliable woman who brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She had a fervent love for God and was very active in her Seventh Day Adventist faith; her dedication to worship on the Holy Set aside and Sanctified 7th day Sabbath was unwavering. Her most profound wish was for everyone to prepare for Jesus' Glorious Coming to gather His saints and take them Home.
Eleonore was a steadfast worker in the food industry, spending many years as a pickle packer. Her hard work and dedication extended beyond her career into her personal life as she brought up her four children with love and commitment. Despite life's challenges, she considered friends as family and was always there to lend a hand or share a funny story. Eleonore's adventurous spirit took her from Buckley, WA to Bonney Lake, WA, where she spent her last years. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild, all of whom she adored.
In the words of her daughter, Susan, "My mother was more than just a mother. She was a beacon of strength, resilience, and faith. Her belief in the Seventh Day Adventist faith was inspiring and her dedication to her family was immeasurable." Eleonore is survived by her daughters, Susan Stettmeier and Laura Duncan. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Bassette, daughter, Dorie Hyatt, father, WCB, and mother, Wilhelmine Benoist.
A celebration of Eleonore's life will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 12:00pm PST at the Enumclaw Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3333 Griffin Avenue, Enumclaw, Washington, 98022. As we remember Eleonore, let us hold onto the verse from Psalms 46:1-3, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
In honor of Eleonore, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photographs of her on the memorial page. Your contributions will serve as a comforting reminder of the joyous life Eleonore led and the love she shared with everyone she knew.
