Eleri Ann Odens

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Eleri Ann Odens, who passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at Dougherty House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 72.
Eleri was born on May 30, 1953, in Vermillion, South Dakota, to Harold and Jean (Ficken) Ahlgrim. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she was known for her fierce love for her family, friends, and dachshunds. Her infectious laugh could brighten any room, and her talent for finding hidden gems in thrift stores brought joy and charm into the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her loving children: Chris (Jenni) Vonsik, Rachel (Matt) Trofimchuck, and Jacob Odens; and her cherished grandchildren: Cole Vonsik, and Teigan and Grayson Trofimchuck. She also leaves behind her sister, Sharon, her beloved dachshund, Axl Ann; and her former husband, Mick Odens, with whom she shared many meaningful years.
Eleri was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Ricky and Jeffry Ahlgrim.
A private graveside service will be held on August 8 at Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion, South Dakota. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date, where all who knew and loved Eleri will be welcome to share memories, laughter, and stories in her honor.
Eleri's life was marked by compassion, humor, and a deep dedication to those she held dear. She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
