Eli was born on March 9, 1975 in Sioux Falls, SD. The son of Walter and Pat Priebe, he grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Roosevelt High School.
After high school, Eli met the love of his life, Vicky (Fullenkamp) Rohl. They were married on March 14, 1998 at St. George Catholic Church in Hartford, SD by Father Gregory Tschakert. Adding to their joy were born three children-Grant, Gracy and Nolan.
Eli continued his education after high school and received his pilot's license in Sioux Falls. Over the years Eli flew for Shriner's Children, also providing aerial photography and flight instruction. [WU1] He progressed to flying freight at Capital City, and then he worked for Midwest Aviation flying charter planes. Eli had various type ratings including CE-650 (Citation III) while he and his family lived in the UAE and flew a Challenger 605 while they lived in India. He and his family moved back to the US, and Eli flew an MD-80 for Everts Air out of Alaska. Eli continually progressed his education, working all the way up to his certification in a Boeing 737 for Sun Country Airlines.
Eli had many passions and was a master of many trades. Traveling the world and experiencing other cultures, people, and food was one of his favorites. Sharing his Christian faith was very important to him. He was also able to fix, create and make just about anything and was often called upon for his expert craftsmanship and skilled abilities, from fixing cars, things around the house, and electronics to cooking all types of food he had experienced on his many travels. Eli also truly enjoyed his time on the lake having fun with his family.
Eli is survived by his wife Vicky Rohl; his children, Gracy (Chad) Zimmer of Sioux Falls, SD, and Nolan Rohl of Oakwood Lakes, Bruce, SD; mother, Pat Priebe of Sioux Falls, SD; mother-in-law, Judith Fullenkamp of Hartford, SD; sisters, Erin (Geoff) Gunderson, Beth (Bruce) Williams and Tracy (Terry) Ries; brothers, Roger Rohl and Derek Rohl; sisters-in-law, Neili (Pat) Fokken, Penny Fullenkamp and Emilee (Brian Brenner) Fullenkamp; and many nephews and nieces.
Eli was preceded in death by his infant son Grant Rohl, father Walter Priebe, father-in-law Michael Fullenkamp, brother-in-law Benjamin Fullenkamp and his grandparents.
