Elisabeth J. Fox, 92, of Raeford, NC, passed away peacefully November 28, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born March 30, 1931, to Valentin Mai and Margarete Mai in Wiesbaden, Germany. She was predeceased in death by her brother Karl Mai and her grand-daughter Jennifer Hall.
She met her future husband, Paul Thomas Fox, when he was stationed in Wiesbaden while serving in the United States Air Force. He brought her to his home town of Statesville, NC.
Elisabeth was an excellent cook and homemaker, but she was very competitive as well. She was a champion bowler, loved bingo, rummy, and yahtzee, and grew to be a passionate NASCAR fan. Elisabeth loved her family dearly; she and Paul moved to Raeford to be closer to their family later in their lives.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Paul Thomas Fox, her two daughters, Miriam Arguello (Tony) and Loretta Shanks (Andy), her grand-daughter Stephanie Inderlied (Matthew) and grand son-in-law Chad Hall, and great-grandchildren Preston Hall, Davis Hall, and Ada Inderlied.
