Elisabeth (Liz) Langholz, age 86 of Loleta, CA, passed away in Eureka, CA early Monday August 18th 2025. Liz was born in Silberbach, Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia in 1939. She emigrated to West Germany in 1946 where she completed her education as a travel agent. In 1967, she wed John (Jack) Langholz, with whom she moved to Humboldt County, CA to raise their two sons, Mark and Mike.

Faith was a cornerstone of her life. Liz was a dedicated member of the Catholic Community of Fortuna and Loleta. She worked as a travel guide, classroom volunteer assistant at Loleta Elementary School, raised and guided her two sons through school and college graduation.

Her hobbies included baking, confectionary, crocheting, card playing, word puzzles, daily walks and spending time with her family and friends.

Elisabeth is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Langholz; son Mark and wife Emilé; son Mike and wife Denise; grandchildren Noah, Jordan, Jacob and Regen; Dieter and Maggie Fischer, Norbert Margit, Regina, Franz, and Hubert of the Kauffman family.

Elisabeth was preceded in death by her parents Adolf and Anna Meinl.

A funeral mass will take place on Saturday August 22nd, 2025 at St. Patrick's Church in Loleta, with graveside service immediately following at St. Patrick's Cemetery, also in Loleta.

Our family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the Eureka Timber Ridge staff and Hospice of Humboldt for the amazing and compassionate care they provided.
