Elisabeth 'Betsy' Richardson Jarnagin, 26, of Sellersburg, Indiana departed from this world into the loving arms of her Lord Jesus on November 9, 2025. Betsy was full of life and love, devoted to her family and her faith. She wanted to make the people around her feel better and had a special heart for anyone in hardship. Even when Betsy was overwhelmed with her own struggles, she always worked to help and encourage those around her. She loved to make people laugh and feel joyful. She loved children – those she worked with, those in her church, those in her family, and especially Esme.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ian, her precious stepdaughter, Esmeralda, her parents, Todd and Melissa Richardson, her brother, Samuel (Kristin) Richardson, and a large and caring extended family, including her aunt Mary Lowe Irwin and her grandmother, Violet Richardson, who prayed for her every day. She is preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by her grandfathers, Albert Richardson and Kenneth Lowe, and her step-grandparents, Doug and Debbie Powell.
Visitation will be held at Grayson Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11am, followed by a funeral service at 12pm, with Reverends Todd and Sam Richardson presiding. Burial will follow at Charlestown Cemetery in Charlestown.
The family encourages all who love Betsy to grieve with the gospel hope that Jesus is the Savior of all who call on him, and he will soon be making all things new.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to an Education Trust Fund for Esmeralda, check or money order payable to: Todd Richardson, can be mailed to Todd Richardson c/o Grayson Funeral Home, 893 High Street, Charlestown, IN 47111.
