Eliza Mae McAfee

Eliza Mae (Cave) McAfee fell asleep in death on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the age of 109. Eliza was born in Allendale South Carolina in 1916 to Jeff and Bertha (Ritter) Cave. Eliza was brought to Kissimmee, Florida by her beloved cousin, Ernest Brown and soon made Kissimmee her home in 1958. She was married to Reuben McAfee Jr. of Kissimmee, Florida and cherished many years together in marriage. Eliza lived a life full of faith and worship. She was a hard worker and over the years worked at an early age cooking for the school system in South Carolina once in Florida she did domestic work for the homes of the residence of her beloved city of Kissimmee finally retiring from the hotel industry.
Eliza was one to keep her yard and home meticulous but also enjoyed a life of leisure and giving to many in the neighborhood, especially the children. She could be found enjoying times spent in the kitchen cooking up meals for her family and dear friends, out in the yard tending to her garden or putting together a beautiful arrangement of flowers.
She leaves to cherish her fine memories: Her three grandchildren; Ornie McAfee; Teasha McAfee and Nicole McAfee all of Orlando FL. Niece; Ruby Green of Orlando FL; Nephew; Cornelius Dolphus of D.C. /Washington. Special and Devoted Cousin and Caretaker; Karen Brown all of Kissimmee; Many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; Jeff and Bertha Cave. Step-son; Willie James McAfee. Brothers; Otis Cave, William Cave,and Jack Cave. Sisters; Maggie Cave and Louise Green and two grandchildren; Harold McAfee and Reuben McAfee III. Her Beloved and Special Cousin; Ernest Brown Sr.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26. 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel at Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor James Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Piney Ridge Cemetery in Kissimmee, Florida.
