Elizabeth (Betty) Bolin died peacefully on January 18, 2025. She was 88 years old. Betty was born to George and Elizabeth (Gallagher) in the Bronx on December 20, 1936.
Betty was a Bronx girl through and through. She attended St. Angela Merici School and finished her education at Hunter College. She spent many years as a teacher, taking time off to raise her children. She last taught 2nd grade at St. Simon Stock School in the Bronx.
Betty is predeceased by her husband Bill. She is survived by her 3 children, Bill (Anne), Bob, and Barbara (Noel) and her sister, Alice Connors. Betty was a great "Grandma" to her grandchildren: Sean (Kaileigh), Eileen (Dustin), Patrick, Kathleen, William (Stephanie), Clare, Elizabeth, Peter, James and Luke. She was a Great-Grandmother to Daniel, and Joseph, Daniel, and Gemma.
Betty was a devoted wife and mother, and family was first to her. She cared for her husband, Bill, and mother-in-law, Catherine, in their last days. Betty dedicated her time and energy to giving her children and grandchildren the best life she could, full of love and fun. She was active in St. Brendan's School, where her children attended, and later enjoyed traveling and her time in the Poconos with her family. She lived several years in Woodlawn with her sister, Alice, and spent her final years in the loving care and companionship of Barbara and Noel. She loved her family and was loved by them.
A Funeral Mass will be held on January 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 170 Bradhurst Avenue, Hawthorne. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
