Elizabeth Burch Obituary
November 4, 1954 - September 6, 2025
Elizabeth "Beth" Milby Burch, 70, of West Point, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2025. Born November 4, 1954, in Richmond, she grew up on Salem Farm in Mattaponi and graduated from West Point High School. Beth served as the school secretary for more than 40 years before retiring in 2019. In 1974, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Burch, and they shared 38 wonderful years together until his passing in 2012.
Beth will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and devotion to family and friends. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion and found joy in nurturing her loved ones and her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry and her parents, James Sr. and Audrey Milby. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Burch; her brother, James Milby Jr. (Barbara); her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Faudree (Eric); her dog, Lucy; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heritage Humane Society in Williamsburg, https://heritagehumane.org/.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 11th, at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th St., West Point, Va. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 12th, also at the funeral home, with burial following in Beulah Church Cemetery. Tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.

I will always remember Beth's sweet smile and quiet spirit. As a three-year-old, she was a beautiful flower girl for my wedding in 1958. I did not get to see her much as an adult but tried to stay in touch over the years. I know that she will be greatly missed. I'm sorry that I cannot be there with you, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
