Elizabeth Ann Cole, born December 2nd, 1981, died June 18th, 2025.
Our loss of Liz was more than offset by the life and love that she gave us all. She was a beacon of positivity and encouragement. She hugged harder than you expected. You felt heard when talking with her. She didn't wait for you to ask for her help, she was already on it. To have her around was effortless. Her presence was like a pleasant spring day that gently nudged you to make the most of it, or an old familiar song that you couldn't help but hum along with.
When Liz found out five years ago that she had incurable breast cancer, her reaction was not to start winding things down and saying her goodbyes, but to forge brand new friendships, double down on the ones she already had, and to lean ever further into life. It was an acknowledgment that every day was a new opportunity to leave her imprint on the world around her. There was no way she was going to waste it.
Her niece and five nephews lovingly called her Auntie (and she had special nicknames for each of them). Her older sister and two younger brothers mostly called her Liz (but you couldn't help but call her Auntie). Mom and Dad never strayed far from her birth name, Elizabeth.
And so, goodbye. But you'll never leave us.
---------------------------
Liz loved dogs, and dogs loved Liz. While at the U of M hospital, she had the pleasure of being visited by a golden retriever named London.

For my friend, Liz, whose light never dimmed-
You faced life with a smile, laughter always close at hand, even in the hardest moments. Your humor lifted hearts, your spirit warmed every room. Though you´re gone, your joy lives on in the stories we tell, the smiles we share, and the love that never fades. Thank you for being a beautiful, shining soul.

She was someone I felt I had known forever the first time I met her- the pandemic was awful but that´s when I met her (and her mom Spike)- she was a bright light during that time- Heaven gained a beautiful soul and I will cherish my memories with her foreverWendy

I had the honor to meet Liz at the Cancer Center when I first started working there a couple years ago. I was her "favorite scheduler" that she would always approach, and we would hug, converse, and laugh about life while I scheduled her appointments. She was such a bright light in the clinic. One day, she brought a bag full of goodies for me that contained a whole bunch of different types of makeup. I always would tell her how much I loved her makeup and how she needed to do mine. She was such a giving, warm hearted person. I remember her provider even telling me "We can't lose Liz, she's amazing." She truly was. I'm so heartbroken to hear of this news, but I do know she was at peace with everything, and her strength and positivity shined through her each day. Rest in Peace Liz, I love you and will always cherish the moments we had together.

I had the pleasure of meeting Liz at the Lands End Richfield store where I worked.

I had never met her before and she was busy assisting a customer. I asked if she was a new employee. Little did I know that she was our District Manager.
That was our laugh and ongoing joke every time I saw her.

Such a delightful person, so personable and friendly. May her Spirit live on in our lives. She will be missed most definitely!!

Praying for the family for comfort, peace and strength.

It's hard to put into words how magnificently Elizabeth impacted my life. She is all the things you have in her beautiful obituary. She was the perfect blend of sarcasm and silly. We bonded over Taylor Swift and adulting. I would complain and she would remind me of how lucky we are. I would be frustrated, and she would find another way to look at the world. She led by being her incredible self. The world needs more Liz's. She loved a selfie, and she loved life. She always asked about my kiddos and when our beloved pup passed away, she sent me hugs from MI that were so tight I swear I felt them in real life. My heart is with her family, for they are experiencing a loss that goes so far in that it likely seems bigger than the whole sky. Thank you for sharing Liz with us. She was perfect.
