Elizabeth Fackler Herrick Cozier was born in Cleveland in 1903.
She graduated from Hathaway Brown School and Wells College, where she majored in history.
She gained invaluable business knowledge and skills working for her father, well known Cleveland lawyer and businessman John D. Fackler.
She married Wendell Herrick in 1928, and they were married nearly 46 years at the time of his death in 1974. When he became ill in the early 1960's, she became president of both Realty Corporation and The Dodge-Thirteenth Realty Company. She later served as chairman of the board of both companies.
A 1929 charter member of the Colony Garden Club, she served as president and was an honorary member. She was involved with the White Elephant Sale for the benefit of the Cleveland Botanical Garden and maintained a beautiful garden at her home in Shaker Heights.
She actively served the Amasa Stone House, now the A. M. McGregor Home, for nearly 70 years. In 1987 Cuyahoga County Commissioners gave her a citation for her many years of leadership and dedication as a board member of Amasa Stone House.
As an active member of the Cleveland Skating Club for many years, she served as production chairman of the annual carnival committee for three years from 1950-1952. She was also a member of The Country Club, Union Club and Intown Club.
During her marriage to J. Kenneth Cozier, who died in 1978, she continued her work on behalf of the blind. She was active at the Cleveland Sight Center, serving on the board of trustees for six years and the advisory council for twelve years. She was the 1991 honorary chairman of its fund raising event, Spellbound, and an honorary life trustee. She also served on the boards of the National Accreditation Council for Agencies Serving the Blind and Visually Handicapped of New York City and the Ohio Society for the prevention of Blindness of Columbus, Ohio.
As an alumnae of Wells College, she was president of the Cleveland Alumnae Association. She also served on the National Committee for Fundraising and was an honorary trustee of the college.
She was active on the Women's Board of Saint Luke's Hospital and served on the YWCA board of trustees for six years.
She was a member of Fairmount Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia Herrick Silverthorne (Dennis A.) of London, Ontario, her son John F. Herrick (Mary T.) of Shaker Heights, three stepchildren, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Interment Lake View Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 10 at 4 PM in Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. A reception will be held following the service, beginning at 5:30 PM, in the home of Jack and Mary Herrick, 21150 Brantley Road, Shaker Heights, OH.
