Elizabeth A. Curry

Elizabeth (Betty) A. Curry, age 78, of Sherburne, NY passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her family. Betty was very spirited and energetic, who had a zeal to live life to the fullest. Betty had a deep love for her family especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was always enormously proud of her children and grandchildren and great- grandchildren and expressed their accomplishments and achievements to everyone. She was always present at their events and cheered for them on the sidelines. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends and would keep the conversations spirited and lively. Betty truly enjoyed playing golf and developed many lasting relationships with many of her golfing friends. Betty also loved spending winters in Florida and developed many friends in Florida who she enjoyed spending time with.
Betty was born Elizabeth A. Shapley and born in Binghamton, NY. She attended Mt. Upton school and grew up in the Sherburne NY area. In her earlier years she worked for Victory Markets and later for the Sherburne-Earlville CSD.
Betty is survived by her loving husband Charles Curry and children.

Wydysh (Jared), Jake Babich (Elizabeth), Isabella Edwards, Madelyn
Edwards, Kyle Holmes (Stacia), Mackenzie Holmes (Luke Mack), Logan Colson, and Carter Colson. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Cazimir Phraner, Graysen Phraner, Braxton Phraner, Johnna Phraner, Maverick Coughlin, Meredith Bluy, Mason Bluy, Jackson Slentz, Finnley Slentz, Owen Wydysh, Addison Mae Mack and Freyja Coughlin.
Betty is survived by her siblings Carolyn Clark (Larry), Francis Shapley (Jeanette), Bill Roosa (Melissa) and several nieces and nephews.
Betty is predeceased by her parents Elizabeth Roosa and Ernest Shapley. Brothers Charles Shapley, Edward Shapley and Bruce Shapley and sister Penny Wood
Per the wishes of Betty there will be no formal funeral or services.
Arrangements entrusted to Burgess and Tedesco Funeral Home, Sherburne, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Elizabeth Curry to the Mt. Top golf course, Sherburne, NY.
