Elizabeth Mae Glenn

Elizabeth Glenn was born January 26, 1948, to the late Andrew and Essie (Primm) Owens. She was one of six children and raised in Camden, Arkansas until her parents decided to raise their family in Rockford, Illinois. Elizabeth was lovingly known by friends and family as Liza.
Liza was introduced to a life and love of Christianity by LeeAnna Penn and valued LeeAnna for ushering her through this most important decision in her life. She professed her life to Christ in her early adulthood and remained a faithful follower of the Lord until her last breath.
Liza was united in holy matrimony to Reverend Foster Glenn, Jr. on March 3, 1983. Liza had a nurturing spirit, she loved to pour into others. For many years she worked as an LPN Nurse at local nursing homes until retiring from University of Illinois College of Medicine. She was driven by a passion to help others and believed the world could always use one more kindhearted person. Her life was a living example of her favorite bible verse.
"And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." Ephesian 4:32.
Liza displayed her acts of love by being a foster parent for 28 years, being instrumental in the lives of local children. She held the belief "love surpasses all things." She would say "you can love a person through anything that has hurt them."
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend Foster Glenn Jr.; four brothers, Ivory Owens, Archie Owens, Andrew Owens, and Mitchell Owens Sr.; one sister, Helen (Owens) Spant; one daughter, Rochelle Glenn.
On Saturday, January 7, 2023, heaven's gates opened and welcomed Liza home. She leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Will Clark, Sonya (James) Fisher, Kapreshia Glenn, Diamond Glenn, Courtney Glenn; six step-children, Sandra Crain, Debbie (Kevin) Walker, Stephen Forrest, Dwight Forrest, Monica (John) Montgomery, Marcus Glenn,; sixteen grandchildren, Jasmine Fisher, Alexis Fisher, Braxton Clark, Kennedy Clark, Carrington Clark, Antaneshia Weddington, Antonio Weddington, A'Nya Glenn, Addison Glenn, Jaelen Glenn, Kamara Glenn, Avianna Glenn, Amyja Glenn, Marilyn Koonce, Marianna Koonce, Mikail Koonce; one great grandchild Kearrei Ross. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
