Elizabeth Boyd Larkin, affectionately known as Betsy, graced this world with warmth and kindness from October 11, 1952, until her passing on December 4, 2025, in Oxford, North Carolina. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Betsy's journey through life was marked by a profound love for nature, a vibrant spirit, and an unwavering dedication to her family and profession.
An accomplished accountant, Betsy's intellectual pursuits culminated in a bachelor’s degree in accounting, laying the foundation for her successful career. Throughout her life, she demonstrated not only remarkable acumen in her field but also an admirable work ethic that inspired those around her.
Betsy thrived in the great outdoors, finding solace and joy in hiking, where she could immerse herself in the beauty of nature that she so adored. Her passion for the majestic landscapes and serene environments was mirrored in her warm and inviting demeanor, always characterized by a genuine smile that could brighten even the cloudiest of days.
Her love extended beyond the trails she traversed, embracing her beloved dogs, who were cherished companions throughout her life. They were integral to her world, epitomizing the bond she shared with all living creatures.
Betsy was a devoted mother to her daughterr,Shannon Newton (Jamie) and son, Larkin Hill, and she delighted in the role of grandmother to her grandchildren, Emma Hill, Daniella Hill, Riley Newton, and Tucker Newton. With each family gathering, she wove love and laughter into the tapestry of their lives, nurturing deep and meaningful connections that will endure beyond her earthly presence.
A loving daughter, Betsy, is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Larkin, and she shared her formative years with her sister, Kim Meleady. Betsy's family tree, enriched by her father's memory, Robert Larkin, who has preceded her in death, stands as a testament to the enduring love and support that fostered her spirit.
