Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 90 years. Daughter of the late Paul and Otilla (Fettig) Junemann, Elizabeth was born April 21, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Jerome W. "Mac" McGrandy, her loving husband of 58 years, on April 28, 1956. He predeceased her June 12, 2014. Betty was employed at Bridgeport High School as a kitchen aide. She was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. She loved sunny days to sit on her swing outdoors and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving to cherish her memory are five daughters, Kim and Jim Peterson, Freeland; Karen and Paul Cooper, Vassar; Kandy and Jeff Sayles, West Unity, Ohio; Kelly McGrandy, Freeland; Kristine and Terry Erndt, Bridgeport; eight grandchildren, Tara Farro, Karie and Denver Isom, Jillian and Chase Coulter, Amy and Craig Matisoff, David and Casi Cooper, Tricia and Jason Potts, Tracy Krick, Alyssa McGrandy; 16 special great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann and Frank Borsenik, Carolyn Dilts, JoAnn and John Krause; two sisters-in-law, Ann Junemann and Mary Jane Junemann; many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death two brothers, Paul and John Junemann; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Lena (Jankowski) McGrandy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed and JoAnn McGrandy, Stan and Kathy McGrandy, Ronnie Dilts; and her nieces, Nancy and Mary Margaret Borsenik and Renee Krause. A special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, especially Sarah for the love and caring given to Elizabeth and her family.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. John S. Mancini, OSFS will officiate with burial in Pinegrove Cemetery, Bridgeport, Michigan. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
