Alice Elizabeth Moore McLeod, affectionately known as Betsy, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at CarePartners Hospice in Buncombe County, North Carolina. She was born September 16, 1946, in Richmond, Virginia, and lived a life filled with love, family, and commitment.

As a dedicated homemaker, Betsy committed her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. She was not just a devoted mother but a cherished figure to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to share her wisdom and affection. Betsy received a Bachelor's degree, a testament to her pursuit of knowledge, which she valued throughout her life.

Mrs. McLeod is survived by her daughter, Patricia Blake (Jeff) of Canton; two sons, William Thomas McLeod (Helen) of Canton, and Jeffrey McLeod (Monica) of Leicester. Her legacy continues through her two sisters, Mary Lou Hardie (Tommy) and Nancy Moore, all of Lexington, Kentucky. Betsy was also blessed with eight grandchildren: Caitlin, Caroline, Madison, Paige (Nathan), Josh (Marianna), Michael, Amanda, and Brittany; as well as five great-grandchildren: Kaden, Adrian, Weston, Samaria, and Jakari, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Garrette Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank "Big Boy" McLeod, who passed away in 2018; a grandson, Steven Blake; and a granddaughter, Bailey Yearout. Their memory lives on in the stories shared and the love that remains.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton with Pastor Peter Constantian officiating. Burial will follow at Cruso United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Betsy's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her, her generous spirit and loving heart leaving an indelible mark on all.
