Elizabeth M. Reed, 48, of Sandwich, formerly of Warwick, RI, passed away from Huntington's disease on March 6, 2025. She was an exceptional person, who accepted her diagnosis with dignity and without anger. She was friendly and kind to everyone she met along her journey.
Elizabeth was born on June 1, 1976. She was adopted after birth in Pawtucket, RI by Linda & Phillip Gaudet. They moved to Cape Cod where she attended elementary & High School in Barnstable. She attended College in Arizona where she met her husband of 12 years Arthur Reed, they lived in Bethel, NC, where her parents had settled. After her divorce she moved with her parents to Warwick, RI. She was an avid reader, video gamer and enjoyed movies.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Gaudet. She is survived by her father Phillip Gaudet of Warwick, RI, her mother's sisters, Diana Litterio, of Johnston, RI; Dorothy Lowe and her husband Edward of Pawtucket, RI and MaryAnn Hidy and her husband Miklos of Barnstable, MA. She was also predeceased by her Aunt Nancy Berube. She is also survived by a Stepsister and Stepbrother and many cousins. Special Thanks to her cousin Julie and husband Nicholas of Hope, RI, for your visits and gifts to Elizabeth, you always brought something fun for that extra smile.
A special thank you to the Staff at Cape Heritage Rehabilitation (Nye Unit) who took wonderful care of her during the last 14 months of her life. They became friends who she would banter with daily. Thank you to the Hospice Services of Massachusetts, staff who helped manage her end-of-life needs. These people helped Liz tremendously and our family on her final journey.
We all love you Elizabeth and you will be forever in our hearts. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in a Celebration of Liz's life on Saturday, April 5th at 1:00 at Aunt Mary's house 278 Salt Rock Rd., Barnstable, MA
